What a stroke of luck I found this artcle. In Jan this year, I did the fasting diet, were you would severly restrict your calories for several days and eat normally on the other days. I found it extremely easy to calorie restrict and was very happy about it. What I noticed though after a few months on the diet, the eating days became weird. I went for lunch with friends and felt myself shovelling the food in with no control. Then instead of staying out, I left and got a full size takeaway on the way home and stuffed it in my mouth. I was well aware something had dangerously changed in my brain. So i resolved to never calorie restrict again, but I found I cant stop picking. Not binge eating, but no control over constantly having my head in the fridge, which has concerned me. I bought the book as soon as i read this article. Bingo, following the guidance and I've stopped straight away. Thankyou so much for sharing.
