I haven’t seen a mince pie for 9 months and then you go and display piles of them in my face. I’ve missed them but it’s not December yet.
How am I meant to resist?
In Sainburys last night, there were shelves of them, different brands and varieties, all pretending to be different but all sumptuous mince pies.
It would have been fine if I could have just bought one but there was no option for this. All I could see were boxes of 6
Cunning Plan
I was complaining to the girl who worked there that I was desperate for one but if I bought 6 then I would eat 6.
So she came up with a cunning plan…. On the bakery counter, there were packs of 4 on offer and as the sell-by date was that day, I would have to give some away as they have to be eaten.
Great plan. I was sold
(Although what on earth is that with a sell-by date in September for a product designed for Christmas???)
I decided I would keep 2 give 2 to my son.
