I know it does. My 4th article got curated, then I was getting regularly curated after. This was until I wrote a comment on someone else's article, and got a warning email off Medium about hate speech (it was a fact, not an opinion) saying if I said it again, my work would not be distributed and they may suspend my account. I didn't get curated after that for 6 months. A lot of writers have had similar experiences.
