I’ve lived in my house for 23 years. We have a cellar with one entrance — a door inside the house that’s always shut. In January we adopted Melody, our beautiful rescue sighthound. She is a cat predator and since we have had her cats have avoided the garden completely. Melody’s patrolling keeps them well away.

Clearing the South South West Corner

A unit in the SSW corner of my home had become cluttered. Items I didn’t know what to do with and junk mail, contrary to the rest of the house which is relatively organised. You know when you stop seeing something? Well all of a sudden I did. Out of interest, I consulted with Feng Shui to see what it meant. Love and relationships. That made sense.

So I cleared it, threw things out, cleaned, saged the space, lit a candle, and placed a new plant there. The energy of that corner lifted. It looked beautiful, lighter, more flowing.

Melody Knew First

Then things got weird. Melody started going spare around the cellar door, alert and restless. I wondered if mice were back. That night I could hear faint movement, but the noise was too big…
